CONTINUOUS HEAT TREATMENT FURNACE

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled furnace that enables rapid change of air-permeable solid wall in case of damage and uniform flow speed of gas by providing plural box-shaped flues divided in the direction of advance of a strip between one face of the strip and furnace wall and between faces of strips, and installing air- permeable solid walls between the flues and strip. CONSTITUTION:Supplied 15 heating gas is filled in heating chambers 18 provided between box-shaped flues 19 and air-permeable solid walls 13 installed in facing faces of a strip 12. Gas that heated the surface temperature of the strip instantaneously to a specified temperature is allowed to flow out of the furnace from the flues through the walls 13. The flues are installed on both sides of the strip 12 and divided into plual sections in the direction of advance of the strip. Since individual wall 13 and flue 19 are united to one unit, it is easy to change them in the direction perpendicular to the paper. Accordingly, when a wall 13 is damaged due to impact of breaking of the strip 12, only the damaged unit can be replaced rapidly without impeding production efficiency of the processing line.
