Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:A dispersant for water-slurried coal capable of increasing the coal content, which contains an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide adduct nonionic surfactant and a nonionic cellulose deriv. CONSTITUTION:A dispersant for water-slurried coal containing an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide odduct nonionic surfactant of the formula (wherein A is a residue of a compd. having at least one active hydrogen atom; x>=5; y>=10) and a nonionic cellulose deriv. such as methylcellulose or hydroxyethylmethyl cellulose in a wt. ratio of 200/1-5/1. It is possible by using this dispersant to increase pulverized coal concn. in the water-slurried coal and to prevent sedimentation of the pulverized coal by giving thixotropy.
