Zusammenfassung: | 1391358 Surfactants for biocidal preparations HOECHST AG 29 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30513/72 Heading A5E [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] A wetting and dispersing agent for use in the preparation of spray powders or emulsion concentrates of water-insoluble organic biocides comprises a sulphosuccinic acid semiester of an oxyalkylated polynuclear alkyl phenol of the general formula: in which R represents a group of the formula -OC-CH 2 -CH(SO 3 M)-COOM or -OCCH(SO 3 M)-CH 2 -COOM, -(OX)- is an oxyalkylene radical, preferably oxyethylene and/or oxypropylene, R 1 is a straight or branched chain C 6-14 alkyl radical, Y is hydrogen or R, n = 2-25, Z=1-9, and M is hydrogen or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal atom, which is preferably used in amounts of 0.5-8% wt of the spray powder and 1-30% wt of the emulsion concentrate. In the examples spray powder compositions are prepared from 37-77% wt siliceous chalk, 0-10% wt silicic acid, 3% wt of the wetting and dispersing agent, the rest being one of the following biocides: Lindan, DDT, Endosulfan and Dieldrin. Other spray powders comprise 32-47% wt siliceous chalk+silicic acid, 3% wt of the wetting and dispersing agent, the rest being one of the following biocides:-Folpet, Ziram, Atrazin, Simazin, Captan and Zineb. In another example 2 emulsion concentrates are prepared from (1) 20% wt pentachloronitrobenzene, 20% wt of the dispersing agent and 60% wt cyclohexanone; (2) 35% wt Endosulfan, 15% wt of the dispersing agent, 5% wt of a reaction product of 1 mole of triisobutylphenol and 18 moles of ethylene oxide, 2% wt epichlorohydrin and 43% wt xylene. When stirred into water both emulsion concentrates give spray liquors. |
