Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain coke having excellent desulfurizing and denitrating powers by producing activated molded coke by a specific method and treating said coke with sulfuric acid thereby increasing surface active groups. CONSTITUTION:The molded coke which is produced and activated by a specific method for production is treated with sulfuric acid to increase active groups such as pghenolic hydroxyl groups and carboxylic groups on the surfaces. Then, the molded active coke which is highly strong and is regenerative is markedly increased in denitrating capacity, and is provided with extremely high desulfurizing and denitrating powers.
