PURPOSE:To use a plural number of sets of leg pairs as a foothold device for welding and painting by providing said legs comprising an outrigger and a link mechanism on a frame body, and making it possible for said legs to travel in a narrow hold while permitting said legs to laterally vertically and longitudinally expand and contract. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of sets of leg pairs 5a-5b, 6a-6b is provided on a frame body 2, which can stretch outward from the frame body 2 by means of a hydraulic cylinder, a link (b) and an arm (c). Further, on the each leg, outriggers A, B, C, D are provided, and thereby the ankle K of a magnet expands and contracts. Moreover, the each leg is laterally movable by guides 9, 10, and by using them in combination the frame body 2 can travel getting over an obstacle. An operation at any height is enabled by extending a bench 3 mounted on a pantagraph 4.
