Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve workability and safety of clamping work by providing a knob and a knob extending cylinder in one of the contact parts of a pair of movable clamping parts which are turned by opening and closing cylinders and providing a knob catch and a cylinder for turning the knob catch in the other. CONSTITUTION:A clamping mechanism of a magnetic rotating arc welding device is constituted of a stationary clamping part 1 and a pair of movable clamping parts 3, 3' which are attached pivotally from both sides thereof with a cylinder part 2 for press contacting of materials to be welded as a hinge. First, both opening and closing cylinders 11, 11' are contracted to hold the parts 3, 3' in an open state, then a pipe 4 to be welded is disposed in the coil 15 for energizing in the clamping part 1. Thereafter, the cylinders 11, 11' extend and the clamps 3, 3' turn to an open state, by which the pipe 4 is gripped. A cylinder 12 for turning a knob catch is actuated, by which a knob catch 13 is turned, and the hooking pawl catch of the catch 13 is engaged with the hooking pawl of a knob 16. Thereafter, a knob extending cylinder 14 contracts and the hooking pawl draws the hooking pawl catch, thereby clamping the pipe 4 firmly.
