Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To adhere the Ni or Ni-base alloy layer to be mounted after pickling and activation of the ground surface of the Ni-base alloy layer firmly and to stabilize said layer at small variance in the stage of repairing a casting mold for continuous casting by pickling the ground surface of the Ni-base alloy layer then activating the same with strong acids. CONSTITUTION:In the case of repairing a casting mold for continuous casting wherein an Ni-base alloy layer is applied on the lower part on the surface of the body of a copper or copper alloy casting mold, the Ni-base alloy layer is ground away from the surface of the mold down to the depth in the mid-way of said layer. After the ground surface is pickled, the surface is activated further with strong acids and a fresh Ni or Ni-base alloy plating layer is applied thereon. The Ni-base alloy refers to alloys consisting essentially of Ni and contg. at least 1 kind among elements such as Co, Fe, Mn, and P.
