Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an epoxy ester applicable to a material for an epoxy group- containing polyester resin suitable for a powder coating from a polyepoxy compound and a monoalkyl phthalate, by using a specified compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The titled ester is obtained from a polyepoxy compound (e.g., bisphenol A-derived epoxy resin) and a monoalkyl phthalate (e.g., monoalkyl p-phthalate) by using a catalyst represented by the formula, wherein R1-3 are each H, an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, R4 is a hydrocarbon group containing an amino, carbamoyl or ether linkage, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl and X is Cl, Br or I (e.g., benzyldimethylalkylammonium chloride). The amount of the catalyst is 0.01-5mass%, based on the sum of the polyepoxy compound and the monoalkyl phthalate.
