THERMOMAGNETIC RECORDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain a simple, small-sized, and low-cost device by providing a backup plate which has surfaces covered with a magnetic recording medium to the opposite side of a thermal head with a thermomagnetic recording medium between, and pressing the thermomagnetic recording medium toward the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The thermomagnetic recording medium 1 is pressed toward the thermal head 2 by the backup plate 4 consisting of an elastic member 7, supporting base plate 8, and magnetic recording medium 5 having a uniform magnetization pattern 6 to contact the thermal head 2 closely. When an electric signal corresponding to a picture is supplied to the thermal head 2, an exothermic element 3 generates heat to transfer the magnetization pattern of the magnetic recording medium 5 by a thermal residual magnetism effect, thus forming a magnetic pattern corresponding to the picture on the thermomagnetic recording medium 1. The elastic member 7 constituting the backup plate 4 uses rubber, sponge, etc., to improve the contactness between the thermal head 2 and thermomagnetic recording medium 1, carrying out efficient magnetic field application.
