DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING STRIP END STOPPING POSITION FOR WINDER

PURPOSE:To enable stopping of a winder at a position suitable for banding without influenced by irregular shape and temperature of a strip by stopping the winder basing on the position of strip end and the shape of strip etc. of output of a strip end detecting device. CONSTITUTION:When a strip 10 arrives at a pinch roll 34, a strip displacement signal is supplied from a pulse oscillator 42 to a strip end detecting device 46. When rolling is completed and the end 10a of the strip arrives at a sectional information detector 40, the end position is detected and at the same time, the shape of the end is decided. A strip end position detecting signal and a shape deciding signal are outputted from the strip end detecting device 46 to a winder controlling device 48. The winder controlling device 48 determines the number of revolutions until stopping of the winder from the length of strip from the detector 40 to specified stopping position of the end in the winder 36, and the coil diameter calculated separately from the plate thickness inputted from an external computer etc. and accumulated number of revolutions of the winder 36, and stops the motor 36b of the winder 36 at a specified position by the signal of output of the pulse oscillator 44.
