FIXING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve a quality of a picture, by constituting so that a heating member has plural heating areas which have been divided in the feed direction of a rransfer material, and a prescribed heating area in each heating area is heated at a higher speed than other heating area, when the heating member is heated. CONSTITUTION:Sheathed heaters 25, 26 are connected in series to a general AC power supply through switches 27, 29 so that temperature of hot plates 21, 22 can be controlled independently. The connecting point of the sheathed heaters 25, 26 is connected through a switch 28 to a transformer TD connected in parallel to the electric power supply, so that voltage of 70.7V is applied to the sheated heater 26 in case when the switch 28 is closed. The switch 28 is a normally closing contact, the switch 29 is a normally opening contact, and the opening and closing are controlled by interlocking so that when one is closed, the other is opened.
