Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI[R1 is alkoxycarbonylmethyl or cyanomethyl; R2 is group of formula II or formula III (X and Y are alkyl or alkoxy; m is integer 0-3)]. EXAMPLE:(N-Cyanomethyl-N-diphenylphosphonometyl)phenoxysulfinamide. USE:Herbicide having non-selective herbicidal effect to annual and perennial weeds by the foliar treatment after germination of the weeds. Useful as an agent for the treatment of a plowed field before or after seeding or before transplantation of crop. PROCESS:The compound of formulaIis prepared by (1) reacting a phosphonomethylamino derivative of formula IV with a thionyl halide at -10-+30 deg.C, and after or without isolating the resultant compound of formula V from the reaction mixture, (2) reacting the compound of formula V with a phenol or a thiol of formula R2H at -10-+30 deg.C.
