ANTIFOULING COATING COMPOUND COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:The titled composition useful as an antifouling coating compound for the bottom of a ship, having improved storage stability, by adding a small amount of a triazol compound to a coating compound obtained by mixing a high polymer organotin compound containing a triorganotin group in the molecule with a copper compound. CONSTITUTION:An antifouling coating compound consisting essentially of (A) 5-50wt% high polymer organotin compound having a triorganotin group in the molecule and (B) 10-70wt% copper (compound) (e.g., cuprous oxide, etc.) is blended with (C) a small amount[the addition amount is 0.5-6.0pts.wt. (preferably 1.0-4.0)/100pts.wt. high polymer organotin compound (calculated as solid content)]triazole compound (e.g., substituted or unsaubstituted 1,2,3-triazole, 1,2,4-triazole, benzotriazole, etc.), to give the desired composition. This composition is dissolved in an organic solvent, etc., to give an antifouling coating compound. USE:Preventing marine living things from attaching to fishing nets and the bottom of a ship.
