Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fibrous bundle suitable for preparing carbon fibers of high strength with pevented mutual adhesion of fibers to one another, by treating a flameproofed fibrous bundle consisting of acrylic fibers with the ultrasonic wave vibration in hot bath at a specific temperature or above under tension. CONSTITUTION:Acrylic fibers, containing acrylonitrile homopolymer or a copolymer containing 80% or more acrylonitrile are oxidized in an oxidizing atmosphere at 200-300 deg.C, to give a flameproofed fibrous bundle 2, which is then passed through a hot water bath 1 with the ultrasonic wave vibration, preferably 10-100kHz, at 70 deg.C or above under tension and showered by shower nozzles (heads) 4 to give the aimed fibrous bundle 2. The resultant fibrous bundle 2 is then dried to a bone-dry state in a dryer 6, introduced into a carbonizing furnace and carbonized. |
