METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING VERY FINELY GRAINED METALLIC OXIDE

PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled metallic oxide of high purity by using a quadruple, concentric and cylindrical specified burner so as to avoid the sticking of a product to a reactor and the mixing of the product with foreign matter. CONSTITUTION:A burner formed by concentrically setting pipes 3, 4, 5 around a central pipe 2 in succession is used. Metallic halide and an oxidizing agent such as air are fed to the pipe 2, and an inert gas such as gaseous nitrogen, fuel such as propane or other combustible gas and an oxidizing agent are fed to the pipes 3, 4, 5, respectively. They are spouted into a reaction chamber to manufacture very finely grained metallic oxide. The tip 6 (the opening toward the reactor) of the pipe 3 is preferably funneled at about 3-30 deg. extension angle.
