AIR CONDITIONER FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To enable the large reduction of a rotary force of a damper in an air- mixture type air conditioner by opening or closing an upper diffuser and a vent passage by a damper having a circular-arc-shaped outer peripheral surface. CONSTITUTION:Outer or inner atmospheric air 3a or 3b by a blower 1 is dehumidified and cooled by a cooler core 4, is passed through upper and lower temperature control dampers 8, is then joined with hot air passed through the heater core 6 and chilled air at the bypass passge 7 side, and is thus controlled to the prescribed temperature. When a diffusing mode changeover lever 20 is operated at this time, dampers 14, 15 are interlocked via a linkage 19 to open or close the respective diffusers 10-13 to selectively blow the air of suitable temperature. Since the scraping operation of the chilled air by the damper 14 having the circular-arc-shaped outer peripheral surface can be thus eliminated, it can be linearly controlled, does not receive a moment action due to the wind pressure, thereby largely reducing the rotating force of the damper 14.
