Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency by providing scales which can be used as computing scales or a scale for converting a diameter to an area of a circle, in addition to a scale for length. CONSTITUTION:The vernier calipers A are provided so that a vernier 4 can be freely slidden with respect to a main body 1 of the vernier calipers. A depth sensing rod 5 which senses the depth of an article is provided in the vernier part 4. The length scale 2 is provided in the main body 1 of the vernier calipers, and a vernier scale 6 is provided in the vernier part 4. A slide rule scale (logarithm) D is provided as an example of a scale 3 in a recessed groove 11 of the main body 1 of the vernier calipers, and a slide rule scale C is provided on an upper edge part of a sliding scale 12. A slide rule scale CI is provided at a low edge of sliding scale 12.
