INFORMATION RECORDING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To prevent each information from being omitted when a flaw, etc. have been generated on a recording medium, by recording the same index information and picture information into blocks which are different in a recording track and also different in phase, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An endless magnetic tape 13 is divided in the width direction of a tape by the prescribed number of tracks, and are divided in the direction as indicated with an arrow (a) by the prescribed number of blocks, by making a tape mark 17 stuck on a connecting part 13a a start point. Subsequently, by the recording and reproducing head, picture information, etc. and the corresponding index information are recorded in an information recording track 193 and a track 191, respectively, from the respective prescribed blocks. Subsequently, after the recording has ended, the same picture information and index information are recorded in a track 193' and a track 192, respectively, from other blocks which are different in phase. In this way, when a flaw, etc. have been generated on the tape 13, it is prevented that each information is omitted.
