Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:A microorganism producing GT-2558 in Streptomyces is cultured to produce a novel beta-galactosidase inhibitor, GT-2558, and its derivative. CONSTITUTION:A strain in Streptomyces, capable of producing GT-2558, e.g., Streptomyces lydicus PA-5726 (FERM-5657) is cultured aerobically and GT-2558 is collected from the culture mixture. When necessary, the product is separated into GT-2558-A and/or G-2558-B or converted into pharmaceutically permissible salts or acetyl derivatives.
