ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform and good image by applying uniform electrostatic charging on the surface of a photoreceptor and changing, the electrostatic charging potential thereof in accordance with the pause time of the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:At the same instant when the rotation of a photosensitive drum 1 is started, voltage is applied on only the primary corona discharger 13, and the photosensitive drum is rotated at least once. At this time, the voltage source 23 of the discharger 13 is driven by the set voltage corresponding to the pause time of the photoreceptor by a control means 22, so that the surface of the drum 1 is electrostatically charged uniformly. Thence, the discharger 13 is turned off, and a preexposure lamp 11, a blank exposure lamp 14 and a full surfaces exposure lamp 16 are turned on to irradiate the surface of the drum 1. Next, a destaticizer 12, the discharger 13, a secondary corona discharger 15, a transfer corona discharger 18, etc. are turned on and the drum 1 is rotated at least once, after which intrinsic image formation operation is carried out. Thereby, the uniform and good image is obtained.
