Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To easily provide an illuminance distribution of an optimum image formation light beam, to each optical system, by placing plural illuminating light emission parts along the longitudinal direction of a slit, and controlling its illuminance in accordance with a copying scale factor. CONSTITUTION:A light source for illuminating an original is divided into plural spot light sources LA1-LA5 along the longitudinal direction of a slit of a slit exposure optical system. In this way, illuminance of the spot light sources LA1- LA5 by a lamp is controlled in accrodance with a copying scale factor, so that an optimum illuminance distribution on the surface of an original can be obtained by 2 different copying scale factors.
