COOLING INSTALLATION FOR CONTINUOUS ANNEALING

PURPOSE:To reduce running cost by lowering the temps. of the gas, water and gas- water mixture which are ejected to a strip of high temps. and are thereby elevated of temp. and supplying these again to water and gas nozzle headers to recycle. CONSTITUTION:A gas-water cooler for a strip 3 of the construction wherein gas nozzle headers 2 an water nozzle headers 1 are arranged in proximity with the traveling strip 3, and gas and nozzle header groups are contained in one box body 4. The water ejected onto the surface of the strip 3 then dropped below the box body 4 is cooled in a water cooling and circulating system consisting of a pump 15 and a heat exchanger 13, is returned into a tank 7a and is supplied to the headers 1. On the other hand, the gas ejected to the strip 3 and contg. water drops is separated to water content and gas by a gas-water separator 19. The water is returned via conduit 20 into a return water tank 7b, and the gas is bosted with a blower 22 and is then supplied to the headers 2.
