RECEIVER FOR CHARACTER MULTIPLEX BROADCAST

PURPOSE:To facilitate judging a conceal display, by detecting and storing a symbolic pattern indicating the conceal display in the page control bucket of a television signal and by displaying it as a specific pattern by a display means. CONSTITUTION:A color code indicating a conceal display in the page in a page control bucket is detected by a signal processing circuit 3 and is stored in conceal memory 8. A discriminating circuit 9 discriminates whether the color code read out from a color memory 6 coincides with the color code in the conceal memory 8 or not by comparison; and if they coincide with each other, a high-level signal is outputted. Next, an address signal is sent from an address generating circuit 10 synchronously with a display control circuit 4 to read the memory of a source character generating circuit 11, and a specific symboillic pattern is displayed on a conceal display part through a switching circuit 12. In this case, the switching circuit 12 outputs the output signal of the source character generating circuit 11 when the output of the discriminating circuit 9 is high-level. Thus, the audience judges the conceal display easily.
