Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a titled packing which makes the smooth and natural opening, and outflowing of a packing and molten metal in spite of the case where the stagnation of the molten metal is long by consisting the same essentially of SiO2 of regulated grain sizes and containing lithia ore contg. a prescribed amt. of lithia. CONSTITUTION:A packing contg. 90-98wt% SiO2 of 2.0-5.0mm. grain sizes as main component, and lithia ore consisting of 0.1-0.7wt% lithia is packed in a nozzle hole for regulating flow rate of molten metal provided in a ladle, tundish or the like. As a result, the inclusion of molten metal into said nozzle hole and solidification therein are prevented, the oversintering of the packing is prevented and the natural opening is made possible. The grain sizes of said lithia ore in a 1.5-0.7mm. range is more preferable.
