Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To measure betaine or consumed oxygen, by reacting a novel choline oxidase with a liquid containing a choline, e.g. lecithin, or betaine aldehyde, and measuring the formed hydrogen peroxide with a peroxidase, etc. CONSTITUTION:A novel choline oxidase is collected from cultivated Arthrobacter globifomis B-0577 (FERM-P No.3518), etc. by the conventional cultivating and collecting method. The resultant choline oxidase and phospholipase D obtained from streptomyces chromofuscus as a substance for liberating the choline or betaine aldehyde, 4-aminoantipyrine, phenol and a peroxidase as color regents are added to a solution containing a choline or derivative thereof, e.g. lecithin, or betaine aldehyde or a derivative thereof, etc. The formed hydrogen peroxide or consumed oxygen is measured to carry out the analysis.
