Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prepare the titled suspension having high long-term storage stability and storable even at a high temperature, by compounding a surface active agent having dispersing activity and xanthan gum to the active component of the chemical which is insoluble or hardly soluble in water or organic solvent, thereby suppressing the separation and precipitation of the suspension and the growth of the suspended paticles. CONSTITUTION:A suspension of an agricultural chemical can be prepared by dispersing the active component of the chemical which is insoluble or hardly soluble in water or organic solvent[e.g. 1-naphthyl N-methylcarbamate, 2-chloro-1-(2,3,5-trichlorophenyl)vinyl dimethylphosphate, etc.]in water as a dispersant, in the presence of a surface active agent (e.g. ligninsulfonic acid salt) and xanthan gum for stabilizing the suspension. The xanthan gum is polysaccharide produced by the fermentation action of Xanthomenas campestris which is a bacillus separated from cabbage, and has the chemical structure of formula (M is Na, K, etc.). It is stable for a long period even at a temperature of an high as 50 deg.C.
