MULTI-SPINDLE WINDER

PURPOSE:To obtain film windings of refular quality from a multi-spindle winder of film surface windig type, by making a second contact roller which has been linearly accelerated, take over the driving of film wind which has been carried out by a first contact roller as far as the intermediate position between a first winding position and a second winding position. CONSTITUTION:In a first winding position A the drive of film wind is carried out by a first contact roller 5 so that a film S is wound by a spool 2 to the greater part of a film length to be wound onto the spool. A second roller 6 is position out of a locus of the film winding R moving to a second winding position. When the greater part of the film S has been wound, a turret 1 is turned to move the film winding R toward the second winding position B while the first contact roller 5 is maintained to pressingly contact with the film winding R by being swung to the intermediate position between the first and second winding positions A, B. Then the driving of wind is taken over by a second contact roller 6 whih has been linearly accelerated by a motor 17 through a clutch 19 and a stepless transmission unit 15. Thereby to obtain film windings of regular and high quality.
