Printing process using a support (23) for a revolving continuous type belt (3) of a line printer guided round two rollers, whose one straight section extending in parallel to the printing line rests against the support (23), an inking web (9) and the print paper (1) passing between the above mentioned section and the print hammer rows (2), characterized in that the support (23) is shaped like a platen and that a lateral surface rests against the straight section of the type belt (3) not adjacent to the print hammers (2), and that the support (23) is driven continuously with a very low circumferential speed.
