METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LARGE SCALE EXTERNAL MEMORY

PURPOSE:To record large scale external information at the maximum recording speed of the large scale magnetic disk equipment, by successively selecting magnetic recording disks when recordings are made on tracks for recording and by utilizing the disk by every one track of each disk. CONSTITUTION:In a computer for controlling, and continuously tracks having no defective track are previously found at a level which is more than the maximum capacity of an input buffer A, and a table which stores each leading address on the main memory of the computer for controlling is prepared. Then, the first track is scanned successively from the first magnetic recording disk to the n-th magnetic recording disk, and, when the scanning is completed, the second track from the first to the n-th recording disks is successively scanned. Therefore, three tracks are selected in such a way that the first one is selected from the second to the fourth magnetic recording disks and the second one is from the fifth to the seventh magnetic recording disks.
