HAIR-DRESSING COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:A composition, consisting of a nonionic hydrophilic oligomer prepared by polymerizing a monomer containing a (meth)acrylic monomer alone or a mixture thereof in a specific amount or more, having no film-forming properties at ordinary temperature, and useful as a base or an additive in a hair-dressing agent. CONSTITUTION:A hair-dressing composition consisting of an oligomer obtained by polymerizing 70mol% or more (co)monomer containing a (meth) acrylic monomer of the formula (X is H or CH3; n is 1-10 when Y is H, 1-5 when Y is CH3, 1-3 when Y is C2H5, 10 when Y contains H in case Y is a mixture of H with CH3 and C2H5 and will not exceed 5 when Y contains CH3 and C2H5) alone or as a mixture thereof. The composition is stable as an additive due to the nonionic property, and has improved feeling of use without exerting a bad influence upon the hair. The low molecular weight provides sufficient adhesiveness to the hair, and the hair washing property is good due to the hydrophilic nature thereof.
