Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To remove unnecessary spectral lines by providing an atomic ion generator between a light source part and a spectroscope, changing the light entering this generator to pulselike light and modulating the generator by the pulse signals. CONSTITUTION:A rotary vane 21 driven by a motor 20 is provided between a light source 1 and an atomic ion generator 8, by which the light of the light source 1 is changed to pulse light. An atomic ion generator 8 has a hollow cathode part 13 contg. prescribed elements and anode parts 16 to be provided in both end parts thereof in a case 9, and gaseous neon or gaseous argon is filled in the case 9. The generator 8 is modulated by the frequency higher than the pulse light frequency by the vane 21, and the modulated light signal past this atomic ion generator is separated by a spectroscope 17, after which it is detected by a detector 25 provided with a narrow band filter.
