LIQUID SURFACE DECANTER

PURPOSE:To make the prevention of the taking-in of scum and sludge possible with a simple device by forming scum baffles with floating floats around a header pipe which is pierced with weir grooves and moves vertically with the level of the liquid to be decanted. CONSTITUTION:A titled decanter consisting of a pipe 3 which is disposed horizontally under the surface of liquid to be decanted and is rotatable, plural downcomers 7 which extend radially from the pipe 3 and communicate internally therewith, a header pipe 8 which is disposed at the leading ends of the pipes 7 in parallel therewith and communicates internally with the pipe 3 and further floating floats disposed in order to hold the pipe 8 on the surface of the liquid. Said floating floats consist of cylindrical floats and cross beams 11, and form scum baffles around the pipe 8. The liquid passes through the weir grooves 18 pierced to the pipe 8, flows into the pipe 8, and flows down along the pipes 7 to the pipe 3, from which it is discharged.
