PROCESSING SYSTEM OF HEAD LEADING SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To ensure an assured head leading process regardless of the tape travelling state, by controlling the forward counting of an up-down counter via a reel pulse counter, a tape shift direction detector, etc. in response to the head leading signal. CONSTITUTION:When a head leading signal reproduced by a head 8 is applied, a reel pulse counter 10 counts the reel pulses by a command given from a signal process control circuit 12. When this count value reaches a cretain count value corresponding to the length of a head leading part, an up-down counter 14 which is reset at the initiation of tape according to the tape shift direction due to a tape shift direction circuit 11 is forwarded by +1 or -1. Thus the program number is decided via a counter 14 regardless of the speed and state of tape to ensure an assured head leading process.
