FRP SPRING PLATE

PURPOSE:To prevent FRP spring plate bodies from its wear caused by sliding contact between two steel plates, by applying protecting steel plate integrally to cover those portions of the FRP spring plate bodies which are slidably facing some other member. CONSTITUTION:Spring plate bodies 1, 2, 3 made of an FRP material have steel plates 5 integrally applied to mutually opposing areas and located near longitudinal central portions and opposite ends. These steel plates 5 are each formed as a thin plate and stuck to the bodies 1, 2, 3 either simultaneously with molding of the bodies or with a suitable adhesive after molding of the bodies 1, 2, 3. The steel plates 5 are thus provided integrally with the vodies 1, 2, 3 in such a manner as to cover those portions of the bodies 1, 2, 3 which are slidably facing each other. Since the steel plate is significantly excellent in wear resistance when compared with FRP, the durability of a spring plate can be remarkably improved when compared with FRP spring plate bodies which are directly sliding from each other.
