Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enable time axis error compensation stable at all times, by controlling the output of a variable frequency oscillator with a phase error signal obtained from a synchronizing signal in a reproduced video signal and controlling the rotating phase of a rotating recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A video signal reproduced from a disc 7 is applied to a synchronizing separation circuit 13 from an input terminal 12 to separate horizontal synchronizing signals. Said synchronizing signal is compared with a reference signal in phase at a comparison circuit 15, the phase error signal obtained is applied to an electromechanical converter 5 via a jitter servo circuit 4 to displace a reproducing element 6 and it is applied to a variable frequency oscillator 16 to control an output oscillation frequency, and this oscillation frequency is applied to a motor control circuit 17, the output pulse of a rotating phase detector 11 is compared with the oscillation frequency in phase to obtain a signal in proportional to the phase difference and to control the rotation of a motor 10.
