Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To have an energy saving clamping device with enhanced efficiency by pressing a moving chuck piece into contact with a stationary cam by the force of a spring and by mounting the moving the fixed chuck pieces on a disc rotating intermittently. CONSTITUTION:A disc 1 and a stationary cam 11 are arranged concentrically, and a moving chuck piece 7 mounted slidably on this disc is pressed by a spring 9 in the direction to make contact with the stationary cam 11. The disc 1 is rotated intermittently in such an arrangement as to release the work machined, which has been held between the moving chuck piece 7 and a fixed chuck piece 10 when the roller 5 of moving chuck piece 7 comes to a notch provided in the stationary cam 11.
