METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PELLET BONDING

PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking and breaking of the pellet, and to obviate the generation of a void by controlling the pellet bonding device so that collet load is brought to light load at the initial stage of bonding and to high load when the pellet is completely changed into a eutectic state. CONSTITUTION:When operating a cam 9 for scrubbing, a cam lever 8 is moved fore and aft together with an arm 5 and a collet 1, the pellet 2 is scrubbed on the surface of gold foil, a load cam 16 turns a rod 14, the rear end of the arm 5 is upward pulled up, and force which downward pushes the collet 1 is reduced. The eutectic between the pellet and the gold foil is slowly advanced under this condition, the load cam 16 is turned at the point of time when the eutectic is advanced, the rear end of the arm 5 is upward pulled up, and the force which downward pushed the collet 1 is increased. Accordingly, the light load prevents the cracking and breaking of the pellet, while the heavy load expels out the voids in the eutectic.
