Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce an electric welded steel pipe of good quality by trimming the side edges of a skelp after passing it through breakdown rolls stands. CONSTITUTION:The shafts 3a, 4a of a pair of cutters 3, 4 are supported in a tilted state to housing, and the cutter 3 abutting on the inside surface side of a skelp 2 has a curved section on its circumferential edge part so as to conform to the curved shape of the edge of the skelp 2. The side trimmers of such constitution are provided on the outlet side of a No.1 or an initial breakdown roll stand and the edge parts of the skelp are curved sufficiently by this. The skelp passed the No.1 or initial breakdown rolls is trimmed by the side trimmers. Therefore, it is possible to leave only the extremely adequately curved parts in the edge parts of the skelp.
