MANUFACTURE OF TRANSFER PAPER

PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-quality water-adhesive transfer paper free of defects by a method in which a water-soluble adhesive layer is formed on the outside of the image part of the paper, and an overprinting lacquer is printed across the water-soluble adhesive layer and the image part. CONSTITUTION:On transfer printing papers (a) and (b), printing is made on the part where stains B and B' scattered outside the area other than the image part A are to be formed by forming a water-soluble adhesive layer D by screen printing method, etc. Then, on these, an overprinting lacquer OPL C is printed across the image part A and the stain B. When the transfer paper thus obtained is dipped in water when being used, the stain B of non-image part below OPL C is also easily removed since it is contained in the watersoluble adhesive layer D, and therefore, the transfer image A can be clearly and beautifully transferred without the adherence of stain.
