Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To simply measure expansibility produced at a time when waste is buried again and used as earth and to refer it to a civil engineering work, by a method wherein flinders, into which mineral waste is crushed, are boiled togetherwith water, and the expansibility of the mineral waste is found from a change in volume between the wastes before and after boiling. CONSTITUTION:Mineral waste, discharge from an iron making factory, cement plant, is crushed into flinders 2 of 50-100 mesh which are placed in a test tube 1 up to a given height A. Water is then added, and after the mixture is well vibrated, it is left in a stationary state to add water 3 to a given height. The test tube 1 is placed in a water bath 4, and after it is boiled by heating, it is cooled to measure a height B of settling-down flinders 2, and this finds an expansion factor (%)=(B-A)/AX100 from heights A and B obtained before and after boiling. The employment of a method, wherein, through analysis of component of conventional waste, the expansion factor is found from amount of CaO, MgO, permits the expansion factor to be promptly measured at a working site. |
