SHAPING METHOD OF SPLIT-RING

PURPOSE:To elevate plane accuracy and to set a gap of a split to zero, by pressing a ring into a die whose diameter is smaller than the outside diameter before the ring is shaped, putting compressive force in the circumferential direction, putting pressing force in the axial direction, too, and reforming swell and torsion of a plane part of the ring. CONSTITUTION:A side ring 1 having a split 6 is placed on a die 18. A punch 19 is made to go down together with a fitting plate 20, is made to press-contact with the side ring 1, and after that, the side ring 1 and the die 18 are further made to go down, the side ring 1 is pushed in until it is pressed strongly by the punch 19, a die 21 and the die 18, and the side ring 1 is pushed into a compressing part 22 from a slide-in part 23. In this regard, the inside diameter of the compressing part 22 is made a little smaller than the outside diameter of the side ring 1. In this way, as for the side ring 1, compressive force is put in its circumferential direction, a gap of the split 6 becomes zero, and also the diameter and the sectional shape are finished exactly. Also, pressing force is put in the axial direction of the side ring, and swell and torsion in the axial direction can be reformed.
