ROLL CROSS ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To cross rolls at the accurate position against a rolling line, by pivotally attaching synchronized beams, which inserts roll chocks from their rear and front sides along the rolling direction, to the central part of rolling and swinging the beams slightly in equal quantities respectively. CONSTITUTION:Each pair of oppositely arranged jacks among jacks 73a -73d is made to act in a stretchable state, in equal quantities, and in opposite direction in order to swing in equal quantities both synchronized beams 72a and 72b by small angles alpha respectively with respective centers at pins 74a and 74b lying on the rolling center line B through respective slide blocks 75a-75d. Roll chocks 7a and 7b swing in the same way because they are inserted by the beams 74a and 74b. Thus the roll 3 is given, in the horizontal plane, an inclination alpha from the direction C which is perpendicular to the rolling direction A. Further both rolls are placed to cross each other by giving an reverse inclination alpha to another roll arranged oppositely to the roll 3.
