PRESSURE FORWARDING DEVICE FOR LIQUID

A liquid-delivery unit is proposed which, in particular, serves for delivering liquid fuel to an internal-combustion engine. The unit has a delivery member which revolves in a chamber and on whose two end faces, which are parallel to the plane of rotation, one blade ring each is arranged. Assigned to each blade ring there is a side channel, the side channels being arranged in the chamber walls adjacent to the end faces of the delivery member. The two side channels are connected to one another. The intake zone of the upstream side channel, in terms of the liquid to be delivered, of a first pump stage has an inflow orifice for the liquid, and the discharge zone of the first pump stage merges into the input zone of the other, second pump stage. The output of the second pump stage is arranged behind, in terms of the direction of rotation of the delivery member, the transition between the two side channels. In order to have the delivery member, designed as an impeller, revolving with the moments balanced, the forces acting on the one delivery member end face are counteracted by balancing forces acting on the other delivery member end face which support the delivery member in its plane of revolution.
