Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To perform a reliable positioning at a time when an element is adhered to a plate, improve an adhesive ability, and to miniaturize the size of a sensor as well to obtain the high-reliable lean sensor, by positioning a fixed plate between support plates and holding a sensor element between the nip formed by the support plates. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2 and 3, made of platinum, are attached at both sides of a laminar solid electrolyte, made of stabilized zirconia, to form a sensor element 1 which mates a perforation 16' formed in an element securing plate 16 whereon a metal film 10 for a heater is formed. Said element securing plate 16 is held between the nip formed by support plates 4 and 5, whereon metal thin films 8 and 9 are formed, and after the metal film 8 is connected to the element electrode 2 and the metal film 9 to the element electrode 3, a coating layer 15, consisting of alumina spinel, is formed in window parts 4' and 5' in the support plates 4 and 5 and on their peripheries to produce a lean sensor.
