PRINTING BAND

PURPOSE:To obtain the printing band for impact line printing wherein both sides are connected at the side of a type having a narrow character width between a type having a broad character width and the type having the narrow character width so as to provide an endless form, the connected part is not broken due to the degradation in strength, and the types are embossed on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The endless printing band is manufactured by connecting both ends of the printing band on which the types are embossed. In this case, the types 2 and type marks 3 are formed as a unitary body and embossed by etching a the like on the printing band 1 comprising a belt shaped thin metal plate. The connecting part 4 of both ends is provided by shifting the part to the side of the type 22 having the narrow character width, between the type 21 having the broad character width and the type 22 having the narrow character width. Thus the intended printing band is obtained. The amount of shifting delta from the center of the part between the type 21 and type 22 is expressed by the equation, (where W is the character width of the type 21 having the broad width; omega is the width of the connecting part 4; A is the length of the part where the strength is degraded; and P is a pitch between the types).
