DEVICE FOR EDGE ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To roll both the end parts of a material to be rolled evenly, by detecting the deviation of the material with respect to vertical rolls, and making the center of the material coincide with that of a roll-gap between the vertical rolls and shifting the rolls basing on the detected value, in edge rolling both the ends of the material with the vertical rolls. CONSTITUTION:In subjecting edge rolling to the material S to be rolled with the vertical rolls 1 and 1, if the center line of the materil S is deviated from the passing center line of both rolles by delta, the deviated quantity is observed by a sensor 11 and transmitted to an arithmetic output device 10 of the deviated quantity from the breadth center line, and compared with a sheet-breadth set value of a vertical roll-gap setting instrument 9 to compute the extent of direction and deviation of the material S. The operational signal is transmitted to hydraulic cylinders 4 and 4 to shift the roll-gap in the breadth direction of the material S by the deviated quantity delta in order to make the roll-gap center L1 of both the vertical rolls coincide with the center line L2 of the material. Thus a rolling material is prevented from the geration of meandering and bending caused by the deviation.
