SAFETY DEVICE OF GAS APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To enable to shut-off the supply of gas even when flame failure occurs during the operation of the gas apparatus by a method wherein the safety device comprising a solenoid valve serving as a closing valve electrically connecting to a controller and the like is provided between the gas apparatus and a main line stop valve. CONSTITUTION:Upon receipt of the signal, which detects the start of the operation of a gas heater 4, from an operation detector 5, the controller 2 issues the signal to timingly open the solenoid valve 3 for safety's sake. When the controller 2 does not receive the signal telling the success of ignition from a flame detector 6 during the predetermined period of time, the controller 2 sends the signal to close the solenoid valve 3. When the controller 2 receives the above- mentioned ignition signal, the solneoid valve 3 remains to be open. Furthermore, when the controller 3 receives the signal telling the actuation of a seismoscope 7, the controller 3 sends the signal to close the solenoid valve 3. Accordingly, the supply of gas is swiftly and surely shut-off when the flame failure occurs during the operation of the gas heater due to boilings-over, wind and the like; when the ignition fails even with the operation of an operating knob; when earthquake occurs and the like.
