Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce noise due to a diesel knock upon idling by a method wherein a variable choke valve is interposed at the connecting part between a high- pressure pipe and an injection valve. CONSTITUTION:The variable choke valve 5 is arranged on the way of the high- pressure pipe 2. An electric soure to be supplied to the electromagnetic choke valve 5 is conducted from a battery 9 through a key switch 8 and an accelerating switch 7 responsive to an accelerator 6 closed under a condition wherein the accelerator is not pushed. Upon idling, the choke valve 5 is oprated to increase the fuel pressure in the high-pressure pipe at the upstream side of the choke valve and a pressure accumulation is effected by utilizing the elasticity of the fuel and the high-pressure pipe, whereby, a high injection rate zone up to the time is made flat and small, the injection period of the fuel is elongated and the noise due to the diesel knock upon idling may be reduced.
