Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To increase the running performance, wear resistance and electromagnetic conversion properties of a magnetic recording medium, by providing a thin film of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic anhydride copolymer on at least one of a magnetic metal thin film and a rear surface of a support. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic metallic thin film is formed on a nonmagnetic support by vacuum deposition and sputtering methods, and an organic solvent solution of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic anhydride copolymer is coated on at least one of a magnetic metallic thin film or a support rear surface and a thin film is formed by drying to obtain an objective magnetic recording medium. As a copolymer to be used, it is preferable for >=200 polymerization degree, and for the ratio of a copolymer, 80-95wt% vinyl chloride, 1-20wt% vinyl acetate and 1-10wt% maleic anhydride. The object of this invention can more effectively be achieved by incorporating a lubricant such as fatty acid and silicone oil into the copolymer. |
