Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To shorten the adsorption-desorption cycle, improve the efficiency, and simplify the operation of an oxygen separation process, by making the adsoption layer with a nitrogen adsorbent and a porous material for restricting gas transmission, and enlarging the crosssectional area of the adsorption layer. CONSTITUTION:Air compressed with the compressor 1 is introduced through the dehumidifier 2 and the distributor 3 into the elements 5-10 packed with the molded form of, e.g. zeolite (A). The elements are placed in a closed vessel 4. Nitrogen is adsorbed with the elements 5-10, and only the oxygen is left in the closed vessel 4. When the zeolite (A) in the elements 5-10 is saturated with adsorbed nitrogen, the feed of air is stopped and the elements are opened to the atmosphere by the change-over of the distributor 3. By this procedure, the nitrogen adsorbed to the elements 5'10 is desorbed from the zeolite (A) and the elements are regenerated.
